Why is it Important to Rotate my Tires?

Rotating your tires is when a mechanic moves them from one wheel to another. They are moved left to right, front to back or diagonally. Having your tires rotated, by a professional, is an important step in maintaining your car’s health.

When tires wear, it is usually uneven. Your car’s front tires will wear on the outside edges because when you turn a corner, the tire will lean over. Your rear tires will follow the front so their wear is more even. By not rotating your tires, the outside edges of the front tires will wear much faster than the rest. This will cause you to have to replace your tires much sooner than anticipated.

By rotating your tires, you’ll have a much smoother & safer ride. You’ll also extend the life of your tires & save yourself money & time.

You should expect the following during a tire rotation:

  1. Your tires & wheels are removed & placed on a different location on the vehicle.
  2. Air pressure will be checked & altered if necessary.
  3. While the tires are off, brakes will be checked while it’s easy to see & reach them.
